The Arc ‘s mission is to promote the education, health, self-sufficiency, self-advocacy, inclusion and choices of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Since 1936 The Arc of Washington State has been a leader in the development of services and programs for people with developmental disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, epilepsy and related neurological disorders which occur before age 18.

The Arc of Washington State is a non-profit organization composed of individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, professionals and concerned members of the community.

The Arc of Washington State advocates for quality services and necessary funding to meet the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families, including birth-to-three services, special education, employment, residential supports, healthcare, transportation, respite services, and inclusion in the community.

The Arc of Washington State is affiliated with The Arc of the United States and ten local Arc chapters throughout the Washington.
