Ken Cavanaugh: When I was a boy, they didn’t think I would be normal. They said I could never read or write, or know about money and marriage. To put it the short way, they thought I was dumb. They put me in an institution because they thought I’d never amount to much. If they saw me now, I think they’d pass out. They’d never believe I made it this far. I’ve been married for 34 years, I learned to read and do math, I volunteer to help the homeless, I’m a member of the Lion’s Club and I work on tenant’s rights. I’m also a member of People First and SAIL. I can do anything I put my mind to. I’m 71 years old and the sky’s the limit. There’s nothing stopping me now.”
